Purple Wine 06:08
Purple Wine When you find your love is gone And nothing really matters All you do is stand-alone Just watching, never touching Never trying to come near Always keeping distance Smile is not what you would Choose to do if you don’t have to. Drink this purple wine, It came from our fountains And then you’ll see that love will never pass you by. And then I woke up in the morning Thought nothing’s really changed in me. I felt a feeling that I thought would never come again. When I looked around me Saw her lying right beside me I felt surrounded by love I couldn’t share so long. Drink this purple wine, It came from our fountains And then you’ll see that love will never pass you by. I’m gonna let you down, I’ll be a man I wanted all my life to be and couldn’t just for you. Our love will be so strong you won’t resist Together we shall come to the land Where there are fountains all around. So when you found your love was gone and nothing really mattered All you did was stand-alone, Just watching, never touching Try to listen to the song and then the tune will come too Together they will bring you to the angels who will tell you. Drink this purple wine, It came from our fountains And then you’ll see that love will never pass you by.

Going in the Morning Going in the morning to look for a new way Leaving all our children left behind. Open the doorways to the solution Coming around; coming right now. The slightest idea I have about the answer It can’t turn me on; it’s nothing at all Moving around to help all my brothers Keep in the line; keep all the time. You know it’s coming all so soon So keep on singing the tune You know it’s coming Slinking with the moon. You say that you love me but how can I know It happened to be my very first blow We’ll walk hand in hand In the end we will reach The top of the hill The top of what’s real. You know I loved you all the time I couldn’t leave you on the line You know I told you I love you my, my, my, mine. Going in the morning The love is in my hands You and I will return to our children Together we’ll build a castle of love The eye of the world The top of the hill. You know it ain’t easy It’s going to be now A little bit harder Than you ever thought it will be.

In Their Minds Where there were green sights Now there is red Death all around you The living is bad Can’t feel a feeling Don’t need no love Somebody tell me Am I wrong or am I right? There is no real cause To all that has been The spring has already Defiled in a gray Death and unloving Earth with no home Rambling around Just looking for a hold. Even the rocks They are rambling around Desolation is back To the dread of my mind Where is heaven? If hell is right now The chase is a fire That burns all my time All my wonder is in their minds Need to become a ghost Someday you’ll see Do not need help or training I just need to be Free Knowing that maybe All is up side down Considered delirium As a way to escape. Reasons for laughter Had gone with the wind Maybe they are gone So the sun will always set The chase was a fire That burnt all my time Searching, looking for those Those who are free in their minds.

Autumn Lake 05:17
Autumn Lake Night on a border of magic and freedom Light as the wind that goes through my blouse. The visions that glimpse on the trembling water Will color them indigo, white and a gray. Slowly disappearing to what is called the shore Where there that kingdom of magic is gone. The whisper of wings that is flying above us Could it never be as it was on that day. I love the season when green is all around The moon is in its shine Autumn lake. Forgotten places of quietness and peace There ain’t no anymore autumn lakes. And if somebody will find this ancient corner I ask him to tell me, to leave me a sign. ‘Cause I don’t remember where is the lane? That led me last night to Autumn Lake.

The Believer 05:24
The Believer And if the light will keep shining in your eyes Maybe tomorrow it will make me hypnotized Until that moment I am free like a prairie mule. Jumping with no heavy load, crossing all the deserts Running like a horse with no hoofs on legs Stubborn as I used to, happy with my living And nothing would be changing my point of view. I must lead my life in the speed that I want to Also, the meaning of my life must be immortal Until then I want to be just like a little bird. Playing with no heavy load, crossing all the seas Whistling all the songs I want to hear Stubborn as I used to, happy with my life And nothing would be changing my point of view. So if you find yourself fitting to what I want You must be OK ‘cause, you know, I’ve got no time And don’t you be a fool; it doesn’t matter to me at all. Hey, where do you think you’re going? I haven’t finish all my points Another thing I want is: Don’t give up the fight Stubborn as I used to, happy with my freedom And nothing would be changing my point of view. So where did she go? ….

Check With The Devil Living by the way Rambling all around Watching all the leaves falling down Maybe I don’t mind to see the evil Maybe I don’t care. Hell! Open up your eyes See what’s going around you Burning dreams The ashes Chimneys of hell Melting the sky And the smoke; a human being Hell! Silence will never hurt after the crime But I knew a man that was left behind. And soon the age will pass And also the remainder Nothing would be left to show us all Creeping like a dream, without no traces We won’t revenge Hell! I will ask no more than justice and no more crawl He was passing away like the falling leaves I saw.

Rain Prayer 05:02
Rain Prayer Praying for me now, we’re gonna pray Wishing for the rain, you’re gonna stay Praying for me now, we’re gonna pray All the words you say. Summer will be passing in the end The rain will come again to wash the land And if the tension mounts too much for health Why don’t you face the drops like a man? Mama told me once again you lied Mother told me once again you cried She said to me that she had found you in the barn You couldn’t let her down this time Yes, but she knew. Realized that nothing will save our grain this time And if the rain will come, well it’s not in time. Praying for me now, I want to say Wishing for the rain that’s gonna come Prating all the time, but nothing helped All the words you say, gonna lose. Smell of rain is drifting in the air The little drops are falling on my hair But nothing would be left ‘Cause the rain had come to late And the fields are yellow now like the sun. Realized that nothing will save our grain this time And if the rain will come, well it’s not in time.

Down Town Blues In the land of norm where the moments pass in peaceful streams of time In the land where no one wants to be the best of anyone And nothing seems to matter ‘cause the ease – it is our crown For the sake of every creature, we won’t interfere with sound. Now, here’s the story of the two who wanted to get out of this They both knew that the answer to this life is in a rhyme So, they started looking for the skills they lost a long time ago In memories, long forgotten, they found some rare old truth. It is a matter for all mankind It ain’t no better to leave behind Why don’t you happy? Why don’t you sad? I know the reason why you count to ten. And the two who wanted to get out of this, they’re doing really fine They found a little pub in a little normal town They both are working every night. Don’t think now very far She sings the blues and he is playing on a piano that has already lost its time. So come and join me and sing the blues It is the rhythm that we’ve got In it the rhyme is set so good Down town blues.

about

Album I – White Horse

In 1980 I wrote my first song with lyrics: In Their Minds. After that, songs started flowing and soon enough I had a plethora of songs, which I was hoping, eventually, to play with a band.
The Album - White Horse includes the first 8 songs I ever written.
We had in our house a big bottle of White Horse Whisky full of coins and as a 17 year old I thought ‘White Horse’ would be a cool name for a band.
Back then, home recording was not even a dream for a young musician and for many years I just remembered all the songs I wrote and composed.
At some point I collected the lyrics into a hand written book but the music was yet to be recorded.
In 1984 I met Amir Kertes, a piano player, and we started working together on arranging some of my songs, while working also with 2 girls on backing vocals.
Eventually we found a drummer, David Abraham, and a bass player, Kobi Kent, who agreed to join in though their musical taste was different.
Amir bought a synthesizer – Roland Juno 106 and we started rehearsing in an old small house in Jaffa, ISRAEL.
The repertoire included some of my early songs: Purple Wine, Going In The Morning, Autumn Lake, Rain Prayer and Check With The Devil and some later songs that were even more into the Progressive Rock genre. Also we played 2 of Amir’s songs, one of them was a song we co-wrote: ‘I’ve Been Everywhere’.
Another song we played was: ‘Temples Of Light’ and Amir suggested we’d name our band – ‘Temples Of Light’. I suggested adding ‘Theatre’ to the name and so we became ‘Temples Of Light Theatre’.
After rehearsing for a year and with the help of a high school friend, Daniel Recht, we got some live gigs and even some newspaper exposure.
Amir was eager to record the song ‘I’ve Been Everywhere’ professionally so he convinced his older brother to invest in this project. After attending a reahersal his brother thought ‘Autumn Lake’ should be the song to record but Amir insisted on his song and so we ended up in a new recording studio working on ‘I’ve Been Everywhere’ and another song of mine we played called ‘Viking’.
Unfortunately our bass player decided to leave the band just before we started recording and while in the studio we found out our drummer could not play with a click so recording live was not an option. Eventually Amir and me recorded all instruments using a rhythm machine that did not sound that great. Another disappointment was to find out the end result that sounded great in the studio sounded awful on a regular cassette which was the only way get the songs back than.
This adventure led Amir to go study and work for a while as a recording engineer and I purchased a 4 track home recording studio by AKAI and recorded demos by myself.
Of course, in those years Punk and new wave music were on the rise and Rock and especially Progressive Rock were declared dead and not much in demand. Not to mention the fact that the songs were in English in a Hebrew speaking country.
Definitely, the timing and place were totally wrong for such a project to succeed.
By 1986 I decide to move to London and try my luck there and the band members went to separate ways.
40 years in the making, these 8 first songs did not change much. The arrangements and the recording makes them as close as possible to what I imagined when composing them.
Playing these songs basically with an acoustic guitar, the lyrics, melody and structure of the songs is just as I wrote them originally.
Though I had many different musical projects through the years, going back to these songs is, to me, like a time travel to the past or to an alternate universe were these songs would have been a part of a known and successful band – ‘Temples Of Light Theatre’.
